Out and about

We were staying with our friends Charles and Janet on the Greek side of the island. They took us out and about a lot, for which we are very grateful. This is a village near their home which was destroyed by an earthquake. As it is on a fault line and more quakes are predicted at any time, it has been abandoned and a new village built a couple of kilometres away on the other side of the mountain where there is less chance of being affected by any seismic activity.

However, the church was rebuilt and is still being used.

They took us to a picnic site. At many Cypriot picnic sites, spring water is piped to the surface and made available to visitors. We collected a few bottles to use at home.
