It looks like carnival time, but in fact, it's election fever building up .... voting is still a week away.

We'll all be deaf before the week is out!!

Visit to UK

Well we've just spent a very pleasant couple of weeks visiting family and friends in the UK

We were so lucky in that we had warm sunshine on many of the days ... t-shirt weather. Not what you'd expect in MARCH!!

Oh and the picture was taken at Southwold in Suffolk.

A clifftop walk from Yeşilkent to Altinkum and back.

Today, as it was so warm, we decided to walk along the clifftop path from home to Altinkum.

We passed through Marti Sitesi to reach the path and then made our way towards Altinkum.

The sea was so tranquil and clear ... absolutely beautiful.

and the spring flowers were in bloom, it was a joy to be out, so great in fact, that after having some refreshment in the Belediye Tea garden on the seafront in Altinkum, we walked all the way home again. Around 8 or 9 miles we think.

Election Time

For the next couple of weeks we will be barraged by loud music and loud-hailer vans touring the area as each of the political parties tries to persuade the voting public that they will do the best job for the community.

The main offices of the encumbant, Mayor Kumaci have been set up in this shop (above) and the "office" of one of his adversaries is shown below. There are several other parties, and it certainly livens up the shopping experience.

Roofing

After some really heavy driving rain our new room turned into a colander ... isn't it a strange phenomenon that when you decide to do one job, invariably it brings on half a dozen others?

... so we had to have the shingles removed from the roof, a new membrane welded on, and then the shingles put back.

So far, so good eh? But what next?
