The Sea Horse Restaurant

Fancy a change from the usual haunts around Yesilkent?

Then check out the Sea Horse. The menu is extensive and no more expensive than comparable restaurants.

Good food, friendly staff and a nice ambience

This is part of their menu .. just click the picture to enlarge.

Altinkum

This, would you believe, is Altinkum at the end of May/Beginning of June!

Work continues in the middle of the season on these huts, which are the replacements for the ones demolished earlier in the year near the Medusa night club.

We showed pictures earlier in the month of the building of the extension to the Belediye tea garden. This is now complete.

and the approach to it has been tidied up too.

However, this is lunchtime on Sunday, where are all the people? All the restaurants are empty!

The Meandros

We had a meal at one of our favourite venues, The Meandros along with Mary, (ex-neighbour), her parents, and Phil and Lynn.

The owner works hard to make everyone welcome and provide consistently good service and food.

The Nari Safa Fasil Restaurant and Bar

We found a delightful place to have lunch today - the Nari Safa Fasil Restaurant and Bar
The view from the doorway is the Temple of Apollo
Inside is an intimate little room
and a courtyard out back

We had a lovely meal with our friends Ken and Betty

Launch time

It's that time of the year again .... well actually it's about a month and a half late.

We normally launch the boat at the beginning of April, but with our visit to the UK and the most un-Turkish weather we've had recently, it just wasn't worth the effort. The wait is now over however, as today we took the boat down to it's mooring. The weather has now settled into a more normal pattern hopefully.

Colourful

Our garden really is a picture at the moment, with everything in bloom.

Near Bosbuk

We took a little trip along the coast from Akbuk, to a small bay just beyond Bosbuk.

We explored the area, before settling down with our Picnic

It was a lovely peaceful day

Last update on the Venosa Hotel

This is the last update on the Venosa hotel. It opened on May 1st, but as you can see, the lawns are still being laid as well as many other jobs to be finished off

The hotel guests are doing their best to relax while all this work is going on around them.

However, it appears that this is mainly titivating the outside. Of course we are not allowed in now, as it's an all-inclusive hotel and only guests are permitted within the grounds

However, we can walk along the beach in front of the hotel (as there's no such thing as a private beach in Turkey. By law, all beaches have to be open to everyone)

so all the pictures here were taken from the beach.

and there's the security guard to make sure we don't stray into the hotel complex.

This is an unusual seating area by the beach and behind we think are some private garden rooms.

The pier is the focus for the water sports

This bedouin tent is a beach cafe for the use of hotel guests.

Pat and Craig's House

We keep getting asked about Pat and Craig's house. Well as you can see, the swimming pool area has now been filled in. They have built an area for their car and the rest has been levelled and tiled as a patio. The garden walls have been reconstructed and the metalwork installed.

There's still some work to do, but they are getting there slowly

Sahil Sitesi

Since we've been away work has continued on the structure that appeared on Sahil Sitesi a few weeks ago. Various pieces of exercise equipment have been installed on one side

and the roofs have been put on the structures. Today the lighting was being installed

and in the centre is what looks to be a water feature, or maybe a paddling pool.
