Changes

At last the powers-that-be have put in substantial posts to stop vehicular access to the sea-front promenade. It was a pleasure to walk along there on Sunday without the worry of cars speeding past.

The council have also painted a white line and the businesses must not stray over it, giving pedestrians a lot more space.

There were plenty of people on the beach and in the water especially as it is only the last week in April, AND the beach had been cleaned!!!

A new supermarket has opened in the premises formerly occupied by Akmar

And the shop known to every visitor to Altinkum as the "Million Shop" (it's like pound-stretcher in the UK), run by a lovely family suffered a terrible blow when the new shop they had just opened was gutted by fire.

However, they have rented the premises next door and it's business as usual. As they were not insured, perhaps we could all help out just by buying something from the new shop.
